Mount Vernon Part 3

Can you imagine the Potomac River being in your backyard? Our Sorgho students were amazed as we explored the grounds and gardens at Mount Vernon. We discovered the slave burial ground, where slaves who worked for the Washington family during the 1700's and early 1800's were buried. Also, you will see that we happened upon a huge tulip poplar tree! Did you know that the tulip poplar is Kentucky's state tree?
