World War 2 Memorial

Today we left the hotel at 8:15 am and hit the ground running. Our first stop was the World War 2 Memorial. Although there was a great deal of construction going on at this memorial, the students still got to enjoy its magnitude. When you see the pictures of the star wall, this is quite symbolic. There are 4,000 stars on the wall, each representing 100 soldiers who died during World War 2, which totals over 400,000! The round seal you see is a much larger version of the actual seal given to all World War 2 veterans.
